This head is not suitable for batucada style. It is not intended for heavy surdo batucada or samba reggae styles.
These GOPE napa heads have 2 layers. An inner layer of plastic with teeny holes to allow air movement. And a black napa outer layer. The napa provides a nice muffle and warm sound. Excellent for recording studio and pagode styles.
GOPE is well known for making excellent pagode instruments.
