Timbra repique de anel 10" goat skin heads. Aluminum shell and lugs.

Timbra Repique de Anel, aluminum shell, chrome hardware, goat skin head, 12" x 12"

Repique de anel is a percussion instrument from Brazil that is generally played in pagode music. This drum has 2 goat skin heads, one on each side of the drum, and they can be tuned independently.

"Anel" means "ring" and many players wear a metal ring that they tap out counter rhythms on the shell with one hand while the other hand plays the skin head. Pretty cool! Some players will tape coins to the shell and tap the coins.

Timbra manufactures very high quality instruments in São Paulo, Brazil.
